It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for Friday Five. I’m doubling down and linking up with Marcia for August “Runfessions,” too! Runfessions are running truths or “where runners bare their souls and soles.” [Here’s Pandemic Runfessions, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4– if you missed them.]
I runfess… I’m excited to report that my running tour tests in Grant Park and Lincoln Park for Go! Running Tours were a success. In case you missed it, I signed up with them pre-pandemic to create and lead tours for Chicago. I ran with them in Athens in November and they “found” me on Instagram. I’m planning to launch in the next for weeks for folks doing staycations and US tourists when that becomes a thing. Have you ever tried a running tour? What’s your fave Chicago site or landmark?
I runfess… I’m still on my pandemic run streak. Today was day 191. I’ve never done a run streak before, and I don’t know how long I’ll go. I’ve averaged over 6 miles per day, so I think I’m going to scale back two days per week to 1 – 2 miles to rest my legs.. Have you ever tried a run streak? How many days did you run?
I runfess… The wellness challenge to support GBS | CIDP is almost complete and I’m proud to say I’ve checked off most of the activities. They’re matching donations up to $5,000 today (8/28) if you’d like to support our team, click here. Are you doing any health and wellness challenges?
I runfess… I signed up for a few virtual events despite my lack of interest in racing. All of them are to support good causes like My Block My Hood My City, Cradles to Crayons, Healthy Hood Chi and Black Votes Matter. The last is a relay with Oiselle called Womxn Run The Vote inspired by the 1977 Women’s Torch Relay. I’m just going to participate at whatever pace I feel like running. Are you planning to run in any virtual races or events? Are you going to train and “race?”
I runfess… I have a ton of extra Run Gum and performance products because I haven’t been racing or traveling. I’m going to send the above package to one lucky reader (US only, must be 18 years of age or older and void where prohibited). Want to win? Leave your August or Pandemic “runfession” in the comments. A winner will be selected randomly based on comment order on Friday, September 4.
Do you have any Runfessions? Please leave them in the comments.
Have a great weekend!
PS. Don’t forget my great giveaways!
