5 Things I’d Tell You Over Coffee This May

It’s the first weekend of the month, so grab your mug for a coffee date. I‘m linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date.

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you about some fun trips and I took in April and other fun shenanigans. I went to Roanoke to run the Blue Ridge Half Marathon and to support Alexis in her first marathon. Our crew had SO much fun. [Read more in my Runfessions.] I also went to Mammoth Lakes for the first time and LOVED it. I didn’t ski but I did run at altitude. It was challenging (7,800 ft elevation) but beautiful and refreshing. I’d ask if you’ve been anywhere fun lately.

Still obsessed with this photo at Mono Lake

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that run tours are picking up and I’m looking forward to running with people from around the world this summer. I have a tour with someone from England next week. I’m also working on setting up some tours with The Peninsula. If you’re in Chicago, join me, Arc’teryx and A Sweat Life for a tour on June 22. Get tickets here.

Some of my faves!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m excited to go to the NCA Sweets & Snacks Show again this year. It’s returning to Chicago. It’s always a great place for new healthy snack finds (and lots of fave treats.) I’d ask if you have a favorite candy or snack from when you were a kid.

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that we’re watching the final seasons of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Cobra Kai. I’d ask what you’re watching and reading these days.

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I finally tried Four Sigmatic’s whole bean coffee with Lion’s Mane and Chaga Mushrooms. I have to admit, I thought that I could smell the mushrooms in the grounds. When I brewed it, there was no taste other than a nice dark roast coffee. I’m a fan and I felt pretty sharp despite getting up super early both days I drank it. Speaking of mushrooms, I also tried Om’s new mushroom broth with some kohlrabi noodles from Trader Joe’s – delish!

If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!
