Five Things I’d Tell You Over Coffee This March

It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five. Since it’s the first weekend of the month, I‘m also linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date, too.

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we’re having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

Expo West ’19 – the whole show is postponed

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you I’m in Chicago corresponding with lots of great companies because Expo West was cancelled because of COVID-19 fears. I’m really bummed to miss out on trying all of the new products, trends and meeting the companies.

I’ve been going to Expo West since 2016. If you haven’t seen my recaps or giveaways over the past few years, it’s like the Super Bowl for natural products. I make many great connections that last the whole year and years to follow. I’m in touch with lots of people so hope to have good stuff to share regardless. [If you’re interested, here are my posts from 2016 (day 1 and recap), 2017 (day 1 and day 2), 2018 (day 1 + 2, top trends and day 3) and 2019 (day 1, day 2 and day 3/wrap up).]

A few scenes from Santiago

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you all about our trip to Chile. The Atacama Desert was one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been. It was so vast and magical. Santiago was filled with amazing street art, interesting history and delicious food. The wedding was fantastic and we enjoyed several great day trips with our friends. Head over to Instagram or to this post for some pics. I’d ask if you have any fun trips coming up or other fun plans.

All smiles after NYC 1/2 2019!

If we were having coffee… I’d ask if you think the NYC Half will be canceled next weekend. I’m running again with the Alexandra’s Playground team. This is my ninth year in a row. Alexandra’s Playground builds playgrounds for people in underserved communities in the US and abroad. They also do education programs on safe play and concussions. Everyone deserves a safe place to play. I have to start my fundraising. I kicked it off but here’s the link if you’re interested!

Between Fullerton and North on the Lakefront Trail

If we were having coffee… I would ask if you’ve seen the beach erosion and wind damage on the Lakefront Trail. The high water level and wind has been damaging the path all winter. It suddenly struck me that a huge amount of the beach is just gone!

If we were having coffee… I’d remind you that Sunday is Daylight Savings Time so “Spring Forward.” I’m not a huge fan of the missing hour or super dark mornings, but I’ll enjoy the light in the afternoons!

If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!

PS. Please don’t forget my great giveaways.
