Friday Five in Photos from The Atacama Desert

It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Meranda and Lacey at Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five. If you’ve been on Instagram, you’ve seen that we’re traveling in Chile. I’ve been trying to disconnect and we’re only using WiFi in the morning and evening at our hotels. We came to Santiago yesterday but spent Monday – Thursday in San Pedro de Atacama and exploring the Atacama Desert. It’s breathtakingly beautiful (and breathtaking at high altitude, too!)

I’ll write a longer post on this experience later but for today will share some of our favorite photos!

This is in the Mars Valley. Aptly named!

Valle de Luna – the Moon Valley

My favorite shot of Valle de Luna.

Me and The Husband at Lake Miscanti.

Salar de Agua Calientes – salt flat – impossible to capture but so cool!

Lake Miniques – the smaller lake next to Lake Miscanti.

These adorable vicunas are everywhere.

At El Tatio – where the geysers are active at sunrise and it’s 14000 ft!

Be my Valentine?

Driving back from El Tatio – the landscapes were so varied!

Driving toward Bolivia into Reserva National Los Flamencos.

Me for perspective in the Miragor Salar de Loyoques.

These photos don’t capture all of the natural splendor we say but you get the gist! I tried to pick five faves but it was impossible!

Is the Atacama Desert on your bucket list? If not it should be. This was one of the coolest trips we’ve been on. If you’re wondering we rented a pick-up truck which is very common here.

Happy Valentine’s Day (and Galentine’s Day) friends!

PS. Don’t forget my great giveaways.
