I connected with the team from RIND Snacks at Expo East last week I first met RIND’s founder, Matt Weiss, at the Sweets and Snacks Expo in 2019. RIND makes skin-on dried fruit, fruit chips and a new trail mix line called Remix. Their motto is “Keep it Real. Eat the Peel.” We’re big fans! And I love the team – we always meet up at all of the shows.
RIND’s founder, Matt, followed in the foot steps of his grandmother who was a health food pioneer. She opened a health food store long before it was in vogue. She sold only all natural foods and nothing went to waste. RIND believes that “a healthy snack can be both good for you and the planet. [Their] mission is to help consumers snack better and do better by eating the whole fruit, maximizing nutritional value and minimizing food waste.” So far, they’ve saved over 340,000 lbs of produce in making their products!
RIND Snacks contain only fruit – no preservatives, artificial ingredients or added sugar. Fruit rinds have more dietary fiber and antioxidants than peeled fruit. They use the whole fruit so there’s no waste! They grow all of the fruit in the USA and it’s non-GMO, too.
RIND’s chewy fruit snacks come in six varieties. They are Straw-Peary, Tangy Kiwi, Orchard, Tropical, Coco-Melon and Coconut Crisps. The fruit chips come in four varieties: Apple, Orange, Peach and Kiwi.
I like all of the flavors of chewy fruit snacks that I’ve tried. My faves are Straw-Peary and Orchard. The Husband loves the Apple and Peach chips. I could barely get a few before he ate the whole bag! The Orange Chips are my favorite. The new RIND Remix flavors are Pina Colada and Cocoa Berry. I’m excited to try both of these.
