June ’23 Runfessions

It’s the last Friday of the month, so it’s time to join Marcia for “Runfessions!” Runfessions are running truths or “where runners bare their souls and soles.” June is coming to an end, so I’m here at the runfessional again. Can you believe we’re half way through 2023?!

I runfess… I was grateful to have only one race this month after two marathons in the spring. I had a blast pacing Maria to a shiny new PR in the Chicago 13.1. Considering the warm temps and humidity, I likely would have crashed and burned if I had tried to go for a sub 1:45 which is my goal for my fall half marathons.

I runfess… I kept up my runstreak after my races and on our trip. We were delayed getting to Stockholm so I did my 2.3 miles after sightseeing and dinner. It wasn’t as bad as expected but I can’t really recommend it! We’re on our way home today so I’ll get my miles in later today. It will be streak day 1,199!

I runfess… I loved running in Stockholm and Copenhagen. Copenhagen was especially awesome because I got to do a run tour with Lena, the founder of Go! Running Tours. Both cities have awesome canals and parks which make running scenic and fun.

I runfess… I was so lucky to miss the worst of the wildfire smoke in Chicago while we were gone. That looked awful and was bad for running. I got super lucky when I went to NYC, too. It cleared by the time I got there in June, too.

I runfess… I missed the first month of CARA training for the Chicago Marathon. I’m not worried about the distance but feel like a new kid coming into school late as I don’t know who will be in my run group!

Do you have any Runfessions? Please leave them in the comments.

I’m linking up with DarleneMichelleReneeJenn and Zenaida for Fit Five Friday. Join us!

Have a great weekend!
