Eat More Veggies with Theo’s Plant-Based Beet Jerky #Giveaway

I met Theo from Theo’s Plant-Based when he launched his beet jerky at Green City Market in 2021. As a trained chef with experience in farm-to-table restaurants, Theo was inspired to make delicious plant-based snacks. He started with beets. After perfecting the recipes and getting feedback in the farmer’s markets, the product officially launched in the summer of 2022.

Theo and his childhood friend, Aaron, share a passion for plant-based food. They’ve made it their mission to “bring you a delicious on-the-go vegetable experience using culinary techniques learned in farm-to table kitchens. They were selected to participate in Whole Foods accelerator program in 2022 and now they’re available in Chicago Whole Food stores with more Midwest coming soon.

Found at Whole Foods on Halsted!

Theo’s Beet Jerky is vegan, gluten free, soy free and USDA Organic. Each package (2 servings) contains one large beet and 8 grams of fiber. Beet jerky part of a new category of vegan jerky. Instead of acting as a meat substitute, they “preserve vegetables in their whole forms” to feed healthy snackers.

The Beet Jerky comes in three flavors. They are Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper, Sesame-Ginger Teriyaki and Savory BBQ.

We are fans of Theo’s at our house. We especially like the Savory BBQ and Sesame Ginger Teriyaki. The savory flavors balance out the natural sweetness of the beets. The Husband points out that this is more of a savory fruit snack for him than a “jerky” – a healthy, savory fruit snack. We’re both good with that!
