I had the opportunity to try new Proper Good soups when they launched in 2020. I was really happy to check out these delicious, healthy, shelf stable options when fresh food was harder to come. I’ve been buying them ever since and love having them around for a quick healthy lunch or side dish.
The founders of Proper Good created these soups to help us eat healthy, convenient meals in an affordable way. They’re busy and active and were eating a lot of better for you take out foods. The bills were adding up so they decided to create a solution. Proper Good makes “good-for-you meals with clean label ingredients in flexible transparent packaging at reasonable prices.” They got funded on Shark Tank at the end of 2021 and have secured additional investment to grow their business.
Proper Good soups contain only whole food ingredients and no chemical preservatives. They use functional ingredients like grass-fed bone broth and turmeric. There are a variety of options to support different diets including keto, vegan and gluten-free.
Proper Good now has ten soups to choose from. The soup flavors are Tomato Basil, Chicken Noodle, Split Pea and Kale, Meatball Minestrone, Red Pepper & Meat Ball, Chicken & Mushroom, Butternut Squash, Spiced Pumpkin, Cream of Chicken and Broccoli Cheddar. The Butternut Squash and Spiced Pumpkin are vegan, gluten free and have no added sugar. You can sort by dietary need. There are many plant-based, keto and gluten free options.They also make chili, two curries and several side dishes.
We enjoyed all of the soups. My favorites are Chicken Noodle, Butternut Squash and Spiced Pumpkin. The Husband’s fave is Red Pepper & Meatball but he likes the all of the ones he’s tried. I just ordered some Spiced Pumpkin to try, too. These soups are shelf stable and taste like they’re from a restaurant. They’re perfect for lunch at home or in the office – you just heat and eat.
