2022 has been a pretty great running year for me. I kept up my run streak and hit 1,000 days on November 15. I ran 3 marathons (2 BQs), ran 6 half marathons, 3 ten mile races and a few 5Ks. I did a trail running retreat in Malibu, California and run tours in Madrid, London and Paris. I led more than a dozen run tours in Chicago and a bunch of runs with Arc’teryx Chicago. I clocked more than 2,500 miles! Here’s to many more miles and smiles in 2023!
Here is my 2022 running year in review:
# of Miles Run – 2530. Average 6.9 miles/day and 48.7/week. This is down slightly from last year.

Fun Race Destinations– NYC, Miami, Roanoke VA and Las Vegas.
Coolest Non-Race Runs: – Madrid, London and Paris with Go! Running Tours.
Best Race– Chicago Marathon – great conditions, ran with Wendy and Jen through Mile 21 and felt great from start to finish.
Worst Race– I hate to say this but the NYC Marathon was a bit of a hot mess (literally and figuratively) this year.
Personal Records (PRs)- 0. No surprises here.
Star Sightings: None.
Number of Sidelining Injuries– 0. I did fall and break a finger but luckily, I was able to keep running and training for Grandma’s Marathon.
Best Running Advice I Received This Year: “Have fun.”
Best New Running Product(s) I Tried: This is SO tough – like picking a favorite child, friend or pet. One solid recommendation I can make is for Salis. This time release electrolyte pill is GREAT for heat and humidity. I’m a huge fan. I’m also OBSESSED with Saucony Endorphin Pro and Endorphin Speed shoes. They’re both awesome! Otherwise, the list is long and I recommend you check out all of the awesome products I checked out this year! Go to giveaways or running and check out my reviews.

I have a bunch of races on the calendar for next year. I’m running the Boston Marathon, NYC Half, Mountains2Beach Marathon (may switch to the half) and Chicago 13.1 in spring. For fall, I have a number for the Chicago Marathon, planning for NYC Marathon and I have a deferred number for CIM (TBD if I run that one.)
How was your year in running?? Please tell me about it in the comments.
Here’s to a healthy, speedy and happy 2023 and beyond!
