Friday Five: 5 Things I’m Loving Lately

Happy Friday! It’s been a while since I’ve shared one of my posts of things I’m enjoying (or that are getting me through a cold, mostly stay at home January in Chicago!)

5 Things I’m Loving Lately

Sunrise on the run!

Sunrises! People always ask how I can stand running in the winter. I actually love running in the winter. One reason is that we get some epic sunrises. This one only lasted for about 10 minutes. I’m so glad I stopped to take a photo.

Planning some fun adventures for Q1 – I like winter more than most people but I’m excited to be heading to southern California next weekend for a running adventure with my friends from Flex & Flow, to Miami with girl friends for the Miami Half Marathon, to Las Vegas to see my mom (rescheduled from Christmas time) and to CA for Expo West and then to NYC for the NYC Half. I’m excited for the new additions and for the old standards like Expo West and the NYC Half! Fingers crossed that everything will go forward as planned.

In case you’re wondering what this is about!

Wordle – Don’t get me wrong, I’m still obsessed with NYT’s Spelling Bee, but I’ve added Wordle to my daily diversions. Wordle is a game where you have to guess a 5 letter word each day within 6 tries. You get a green square if you guess the correct letter in the correct position, a yellow square if you guess a correct letter in the wrong position and gray squares if the letter is not in today’s word. People post their colors and how many tries it took to get the puzzle. Like yesterday, I got puzzle 216 in 3 tries so 216/3 and then the blocks as shown above. Learn more on the cute story behind Wordle on the NY Times.

Dreaming of vacations and soliciting ideas for our 20th anniversary – Our 20th wedding anniversary is in November. We typically take a trip for anniversaries and are hoping to do something big this year for 20 (and to make up for lost time the last two years. The previous few years we went to Europe (Italy and Greece) and a bunch of Central and South America in the last 10 years. For our 10th, we went to S. Africa. That was amazing! One of m favorite destinations of all time. (Any suggestions??)

Gonanas Banana Bread Muffins – If you’ve been around here, you know I’m a pretty terrible baker. Color me shocked to find out that Gonanas banana bread mixes are super easy and taste great. I got some in a subscription box and decided to try it. The mixes are gluten free and have just a few added ingredients. I made a loaf and we were hooked. Recently, they had a few fun limited editions. I tried making muffins instead of loaves and we’re digging those. The newest limited edition flavor is birthday cake with sprinkes and mini white chocolate chips. Delish for dessert – with or without frosting. Get 10% off at Gonanas with code ERICAFINDS or find it on Amazon.

That’s all from here! What are you loving lately? Please tell me in the comments!
