5 Things I’d Tell You Over Coffee This October

It’s the first weekend of the month so I’m having some virtual coffee. I‘m linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date.

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

Wow! The beginning of the year crawled and suddenly it’s October. Do you feel that way, too?

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I had the BEST time on the East Coast last weekend. Between Expo East and visiting my brother and Dan and friends in NJ, I couldn’t stop smiling. It was so great to go back East and to see so many friends. It’s hard to imagine that almost two years passed since I’ve been in NJ. I’d ask if you’ve been able to visit with friends and family yet.

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that Expo East was really great despite being about half the size as usual. It was a bit strange wearing a mask at a trade show, but it was so great to be in person, I got used to it. Many “big”/corporate brands did not come this year, so I met a lot of small/newer brands which was cool. I’ll have some fun giveaways and reviews coming soon!

Comment on this post and you could win these goodies!

If you’re interested in my finds, I’d tell you more! [You can read all about it in this post. If you leave a comment, you might win a fun sampler of goodies that I brought home! Ends 10/7. US only.]

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I had a the opportunity to get a number for this weekend’s London Marathon and I decided not to go. The spot came from the Abbott World Marathon Majors age group championship from NYC and Chicago in 2019. It was touch and go as to whether they’d have it. When they decided it was happening, we considered how tough it would be to get into and out of London. It seems doable, but potentially risky. I decided to run Chicago and prioritize trips to NYC and out west to see family for the holidays instead. [I do have some FOMO, though!]

Ready to Run 20 miler

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I can’t believe the Chicago Marathon is next week! Despite a somewhat unconventional training season, I feel pretty optimistic about it. I had a great 20 miler with CARA and really good 13 miler with the Philadelphia Marathon training group. I’m stalking the weather and hoping it shifts a bit cooler, but otherwise, I’m set. I’m looking forward to some other fun events and meet ups next week, too!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I tried new Mushroom Cups coffee. I supported their Kickstarter and just received my “perks.” They make gourmet coffee infused with mushrooms for specific functional benefits. I got the Go Sharp (with lion’s mane and wild chanterelle to support brain function) and the Go Glow (with chaga and wild chanterelle to support immunity and wellbeing). I’m also adding some Willa’s oat m!lk. It tastes good – I’ll keep you posted on how we feel! I’d ask if you tried anything new lately!

If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!

I’m linking up with DarleneMichelleReneeJenn and Zenaida, for Fit Five Friday. Join us!

Have a good weekend!
