5 Things I’d Tell You Over Coffee This February

It’s the first weekend of the month so I’m having some virtual coffee. I‘m linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date.

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

I want these Valentine’s mugs from Personalization Mall

If we were having coffee… I’d ask if your older family members and friends have been able to get vaccines. My in-laws have but my mom is still trying to get an appointment in Nevada. I’m hopeful that supply will increase and the processes will get so that we can get vaccinated by summer.

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that we’ve had a lot of snow and the Chicago Parks Service has been doing an awesome job keeping the running trails and parks clear. This is the first time in years where we’ve had significant snow that’s hung around. There are a ton of snowmen (and ladies and even a snowcat). The field by our house had a ton of socially distanced snowmen and ladies. It was kind of strange. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I read a few books that I really enjoyed including Bravey by Alexi Pappas, Florence Adler Swims Forever by Rachel Beanland and The Survivors by Jane Parker. Bravey is a memoir by Olympic runner, actress and writer Alexi Pappas. I met her and covered an event with her a few years ago (post). I was impressed by her then and even more so now. The other two were fiction. The Survivors is set in Tasmania and tells the story of a town ravaged by a storm that caused several deaths and the secrets that Have you read anything you’d recommend?

The colder it is, the prettier the sunrise!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you I’m planning to keep up my running streak through February 2021 at least. I’m on day 352 days of (average) 6+ miles per day. Running is one of my only easy social outlets in winter and I do love running in cold weather. Call me crazy! This weekend is supposed to be frigid (single digits) so we’ll see how far I make it. Luckily, I have access to a treadmill in my building – just in case! [If you missed them, check out my January Runfessions here.]

If we were having coffee… I’d ask if you if you’re planning to watch the Super Bowl and if so who you’re rooting for. We’ll probably watch but don’t have a horse in the game. Is it wrong to root against Tom Brady??

If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!

Have a good weekend!

PS. Please don’t forget my great giveaways.
