5 Things I’d Tell You Over Coffee This October

It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five. Since it’s the first weekend of the month, I‘m also linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date, too.

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we’re having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

If we were having coffee… I can’t believe it’s October! It’s pretty laughable to me now that I was upset when the “safe at home” rules went through to May 15. All things considered, the summer went pretty well here. We’ve enjoyed time outside with friends, running all the miles and even an outdoor Octoberfest last weekend. I’m worried about feeling more isolated again when the winter weather comes and the days get shorter. I ordered another 1000 piece puzzle. What are you doing to keep up your spirits as the winter comes?

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that we’ve been watching Cobra Kai and I must tell you as a kid of the 80s, I’m really enjoying the flashbacks. It’s mostly corny and sometimes cringe worthy but a great escape from the heaviness of pandemic and election time life. We also loved Kim’s Convenience and Schitt’s Creek for some laughs. I’d ask if you’re watching anything good to keep your mind off things.

Q3 Running fun!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that my run streak continues. I’m at 226 days. I was thinking of keeping it up through the whole pandemic, but… that could be a lot more days than I originally bargained for. There were more fun times with friends running in the last few months, so that’s been a help. Fall’s my fave season for running so I’ll be running for the next few weeks for sure. You can check out my Q3 Running Round Up here.

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I recently had a brand approach me on Instagram to try their new eco-friendly reusable mug. They offered me 25% off for the “opportunity to try their product and to spread the word about it.” When I suggested that I typically request a product sample to try to determine if I like it, they replied that “together we can save the environment.” Um. What? I felt like a jerk, but I told them I’m not in need of more reusable mugs at the moment but I’d consider checking it out in the future. I’d see if I solicited them, but seriously. I thought this was super lame. Even though it’s a pretty trivial issue, I’d ask you what you think!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that our friend Lynn is fundraising for an experimental treatment for her debilitating chronic condition, CIDP. She’s putting together an awesome raffle (will share the link soon) and working with Flex & Flow on some fundraiser virtual yoga classes. Check out the Activeist podcast from Flex & Flow with her story and more info on the classes on 10/7 and 10/10 here. And stay tuned for additional classes and the raffle info.

If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!

PS. Please don’t forget my great giveaways.
