Friday Five: 5 Things I’m Looking Forward to This Fall

It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five. If you’ve been around here, you know fall is my favorite season. I love fall weather and normally there are a ton of great events I look forward to. Of course, the 2020 edition will look very different. Last year, I was excited for Expo East, Chicago Marathon, Kara Goucher’s Podium Retreat, NYC Marathon and an international vacation. Well… none of those are on this year’s calendar, but there’s still some fun stuff ahead.

5 Things I’m Looking Forward to This Fall

Running in the cool temps with no pressure or formal schedule. I love to run in the fall! 50 degrees is just about perfect for a run. This year instead of training for marathons and other races, I’m just going to run. I’ll go as far or as short, as fast or as slow, as I feel like on any given day. Don’t get me wrong – I miss races and training and experiences A LOT. That said, I’m embracing the empty slate and a

A trip to Michigan that will include apple picking and hiking. I mentioned last week that we’re going on a trip next week with Stacy to an AirBnB in Michigan. I’m looking forward to a few days off, drinking coffee on the porch, running, hiking and hitting the apple orchard.

Oiselle Womxn Run The Vote “Relay” and Runstreet Fitness Challenge. From September 21 – 27, over 8,000 women will run, walk and move 680 miles as a team of 10 – 20 people. This represents the distance from Atlanta to Washington, DC. “Along the way,” we’ll learn about Civil Rights historic sites and people and raise money for Black Voters Matter, an organization dedicated to increasing power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities.

I’m also joining another Runstreet challenge in October. It’s “only” 100 kilometers of running and other body weight activities. You can join me here – it’s free.

Connecting with companies for new “finds”and awesome gift guides. Expo East was cancelled, but New Hope Network did a really cool online site and set of resources for vendors to showcase new products. I’ve been connecting with some of my fave brands and new ones to share what’s new and improved.

Also, believe it or not, the holidays are not cancelled this year. Before we know it, it will be holiday time. We may have to send gifts and have some Zoom holiday celebrations, but the show will go on. Companies have started reaching out with some awesome ideas. So stay tuned!

Sweater weather! I love sweater weather. I’m looking forward to breaking out my jeans and sweaters and to continuing to enjoy some outdoor fun as the seasons change.

What are you looking forward to this fall?

Have a great weekend!

PS. Don’t miss my great giveaways.
