If you’ve been around here, you know I love energy bars made with real, whole food ingredients. I’ve tried RBar Energy Bars in a variety of subscription boxes. They reached out to me to see if I wanted to try all of the flavors, plus their newer line of protein bars. Of course, I said “Yes!.”
RBars were created by an elite cyclist to meet his own nutrition needs. He was looking for a healthy, nutrient-dense, convenient fuel and snack that “didn’t taste terrible.” He took a handful of nuts, dried fruit and superfoods and made his own. He’d wrap them in plastic and eat them on his rides. His friends started asking for bites and whole bars. And the rest was history!
RBars are plant based and contain only real food ingredients. They’re gluten free, dairy free, soy free and contain no refined sugars. All bars are 7 ingredients or less. The Energy Bars have 3 – 6 ingredients – only nuts, fruit and superfoods. The Protein Bars have 7 ingredients or less and 10+ grams of protein.
RBar Energy Bars come in five flavors. They are Blueberry Breakfast, Cranberry Cashew, Lemon Poppyseed, Peanut Butter and Jelly and Chocolate Peanut Butter. They recommend the Energy Bars for “during a workout or for a naturally sweet snack.” I like all of these flavors – especially Blueberry Breakfast. I eat them as a mid morning or mid afternoon snack or pre-run.
RBar Protein Bars come in five flavors, too! They are Coconut, Matcha Orange, Pomegranate, Honey Nut and Acai. The protein comes from almonds or peanuts. They recommend the Protein Bars for “your next pre-workout fuel or breakfast on-the-go.” My favorite is Honey Nut. I like them with fruit (or crumbled into non-dairy yogurt or on a smoothie bowl) for breakfast or as an afternoon snack on an active day.
