5 Things I’d Tell You Over Coffee This September

It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five. Since it’s the first weekend of the month, I‘m also linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date, too.

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we’re having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

I’m lucky that this is one of my coffee views!

If we were having coffee… I’d say that I can’t believe it’s been 6 months “safe at home.” The summer months were easier to navigate with the path and parks open for running and lots of socially distant meet ups with friends. I’m a little worried about how it will be as the days get shorter and the weather gets colder. At least I have running in every season! I’d ask how you’re holding up and what you’re doing to keep spirits up.

If we were having coffee… I’d ask if you were planning any vacations or staycations this fall. We’re headed to Michigan with Stacy for a 4 day getaway in mid-September. It will be nice to have a free standing place in a less congested area and to run, hike, go apple picking, etc. What are you planning for and fall?

2 stops on my Lincoln Park Tour (Grant Monument and Nature Boardwalk)

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you I had so much fun leading more “test” running tours to get ready to launch my Go! Running Chicago tours. Lincoln Park has a ton of fun history and nature facts that most people don’t know. It’s also pretty much untouched by the unrest in the city or pandemic – except for the additional geese! There are tons of them everywhere. I’m hoping to “go live” with Grant Park, Lincoln Park, Downtown/Lake and my friends’ Donut 5K soon. I’d ask if you’d be up for a run tour or walking tour in a new city.

If we were having coffee… I’d ask if you’ve seen or tried any fun and innovative new services or places that have popped up during the pandemic. Our friend, Cliff, has been DJ-ing some virtual events. I’ve heard of virtual wine tastings and cooking classes.

We’ve been trying meals from great local chefs with Daba. When COVID 19 shut down restaurants, a young entrepreneur (who’s a neighbor’s grandson) started an online company to enable great chefs to create great menus and deliver them to your door. He has a new chef every other week and each meal is only $20 – $30/person. We’ve done four so far and have enjoyed all of them. They come prepared with some cooking or finishing required. The directions are great and we feel like our cooking skills are improving. The Husband even made steaks after we made some with a Daba meal!

If we were having coffee… I’d ask if your “athleisure” and fitness wardrobe needs some refreshing. Then, I’d share this link where you can sign up for Athleta’s “Friends and Family” sale from September 10 – 14. Click here to add your email to be sent a coupon for 20% off online or in store.

If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!
