5 Things I’d Tell You Over Virtual Coffee

It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five. Since it’s the first weekend of the month, I‘m also linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date, too.

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we’re having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

Virtual coffee with my former Castlight colleagues!

If we were having virtual coffee… I’d ask how your family and friends are doing and ask how you’re holding up. I’ve been doing my best trying to remain positive and grateful for all that we have. We’re safe, have plenty of food and our work has not been impacted. I’m trying to think of the silver linings like “seeing friends and colleagues” often on Zoom, having more time to spend with The Husband, slowing down, being more present in activities and relaxing more, etc. I’m trying my best- not always succeeding. How are you?

If we were having virtual coffee… I’d tell you that I’ve been working on creating some Chicago Running Tours with Go! Running Tours. I was planning to launch in the spring as the new Chicago City Manager. Well… best laid plans and all. I am planning to do a Facebook Live with them on April 8 at 9 AM CST to do a Q & A about running in Chicago (event link). Plus they’re hosting a free “Run Together Alone” event on April 18. Whether you have to run around your apartment or outside on the trails, you can join in the fun. Here’s the link to sign up – FREE.

New pandemic pass time!

If we were having virtual coffee… I’d ask what you were doing to keep entertained during the home stay time. We ordered some puzzles but they have not arrived. We’ve been watching How to Get Away with Murder on Netflix. I’ve been listening to Audible books – loved Daisy Jones and the Six and reading. Thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited. Many entertaining books and Audible books are free. I’m also now addicted to Spelling Bee in the NY Times Puzzle section (it’s $19.99 a year for Crossword and all the puzzles including Suduko and a bunch of others including Spelling Bee. I’m also thinking of starting to knit again. All craft and cooking classes are free on Bluprint (formerly Craftsy) until 4/16. Sign up here.

If we were having virtual coffee… I’d ask if you have been doing any of your live activities virtually. I started virtual Pilates with Maureen at our usual 7:00 Monday time and let me tell you, it was great. My body felt good doing the stretches and Pilates moves and my heart felt good being “with” Maureen. I’ve also been doing lots of Zoom socializing like everyone else. I saw virtual pub trivia and was invited to a few virtual games. How about you?

L – profiled and had a giveaway. R- profile and giveaway coming on Monday

If we were having virtual coffee… I’d tell you that I’ve been trying to keep my blog “business as usual” and am still doing giveaways and sharing great companies. A lot of the natural food companies were hit hard by Expo West’s cancellation and are trying to spread the word about great new products. I’d ask if you’re cool with this or if it’s off-putting. What do you think?

If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!

PS. Please don’t forget my great giveaways.
