It’s National CBD Day! #Giveaway

August 8th has been proclaimed “National CBD Day!” Unless you’ve been under a rock for the last 6 months or more, you’ve heard about the new wellness craze – CBD oil. Cannabidiol (a/k/a CBD) is a popular natural remedy used for many common ailments. It’s derived from cannabis but has no THC so it doesn’t have any psychoactive effect. Thus, it can’t make you high.

While still new, there are some studies that show CBD oil can reduce pain, help with anxiety and skin ailments and more. You can see in the illustration above some of the claims that are being made. The NY Times had a great piece in their magazine section in May. You can check it out here.

If you saw my Expo West recaps and trends report, you’ll see that CBD was everywhere. I had to check the water labels before I drank it! Everyone was promoting the “chill” with CBD oil. It’s in all kind of digestible forms like honey and even caramels and coffee. It’s also in roll-ons, creams and balms. Personally, I’m a fan of the creams and roll-ons and have noticed an impact on pain and swelling in my knees and other painful spots. I don’t have good success with ingestible CBD but I’ve shared it with others who do.

I’ve received a bunch of products from reputable CBD brands. I’m going to tell you about some and share some, too!

  • CBD Living – CBD Living uses organic hemp and nanotechnology to make CBD 90% bioavailable in their water, gummies, freeze, vapes and more. I have some gummy samples and love their Freeze roll on.
  • Wild Things – Wild Things makes high quality CBD products including oils, capsules, creams, facial oils and even CBD for pets!
  • Floyd’s of Leadville – Floyd’s of Leadville was founded by pro cyclist Floyd Landis. Floyd found CBD to help manage chronic pain from cycling injuries. He believes in it so much that he created CBD products for athletes.
  • Restorative Botanicals – Restorative Botanicals make a variety of topical and ingestible CBD products. I love the Restore Comfort Hand and Body Cream. They even make Artisan Crafted Hemp Extract Caramels.
