Eat Beans – Be Well! WellBean Bar Review + #Giveaway

The folks at WellBean saw that I love to try healthy snacks, so they offered to send me some of their new bars to try. They told me that “WellBean are whole-food vegan snack bars made from beans, fruit, and nuts.  As far as [they] know, it’s the only whole-food bean-based bar out there.” I was intrigued.

WellBean bars were crafted by two friends who wanted to incorporate more plant based, whole foods into their diets. They chose to make a bean based bar because beans are high in fiber. High fiber whole foods take longer to digest and keep you full longer. They think beans are the world’s most “underappreciated superfood.”

WellBean bars are high in protein and fiber and are gluten free and vegan. There are no protein powders or oils in the bars. The bars have as few as five ingredients and you’ll recognize them all. They use whole food ingredients that are packed with antioxidants and phytochemicals.

The bars come in five flavors. They are Coconutty, Sunflower Figbar, Almond Fudge Brownie, Peanut Butter Crunch and Chocolate Chip Walnut. The bars are not as moist as some other bars but they have a good texture. They taste more homemade than many bars I’ve tried.

Sunflower FigBar was my fave!

My favorite by far was the Sunflower Figbar. I especially liked it with my morning coffee. A close second was Peanut Butter Crunch. These bars are very filling and are not too sweet. I’m a fan!
