Five Things Friday v. 5

It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five. I’ve been struggling to decide what to blog about this week, so I’m just going to tell you “five things.”

1. I’m headed to check out the Outside Experience this weekend. This new outdoors show is presented by Outside Magazine. It’s a two-day event for “outdoor and adventure enthusiasts of all skill levels and ages.” They’ll have interactive gear demos, craft beverage tastings, love music and more! I’m checking out the show on Saturday and working with my friends from Redd Bar on Sunday. I’m excited to go to a new kind of expo and to see what I find. Here’s the 411.

2. Summer started late here but I’m already feeling pretty beat down by the heat on my runs. I’m trying out a hydration pack with a mist attachment. It’s from ExtremeMist. I’m going to try it this weekend. It mean’s carrying a bit of extra weight for the motor, but they say it feels 20 – 30 degrees cooler. It’s worth a try!

3. Monday is Amazon Prime Day, do you have your eye on anything? I’m going to head over to my “finds page” and look for sales on my faves. Please do click on my “finds page.” I get small commissions on sales from my page to help fund the blog – even if you buy other stuff! A little birdie just told me that Sole Healers and SmartSoles will be on sale for Prime Day! Also, don’t forget to go to Whole Foods and spend at least $10 before the 15th to get $10 off on Prime Day. You’re welcome. [One of my friends told me she doesn’t have Amazon Prime – do you?]

4. The Husband found a new show in NYC hanging out with our friends’ kids. He’s been watching Nailed It on Netflix. Nailed It is a baking show where inept bakers try to make very sophisticated cookies and cakes. Jacques Torres is one of the judges. It’s entertaining. Just when I wondered out loud who in their right mind would audition for this, he said “you know you’d be the perfect contestant for this show.” He’s not wrong, but… NO WAY. Have you seen this show? [PS. I’m not offended. I’m a terrible baker.]

5. The Husband was late to the party on Jimmy Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets.” We’ve been watching those on YouTube and they’re hilarious. I’d seen some of the celebrity/athlete ones, but not all of them. Need a laugh? Check out one (or thirty-nine) of these on YouTube! Mad props to Barack Obama for joining the fun.

That’s all I have for today! Have a great weekend!

PS. Don’t forget my great giveaways!
