Tried It Tuesday: Heat Holders Thermal Socks #Giveaway

It was a pretty mild winter here in Chicago… until it wasn’t. I was offered the opportunity to try Heat Holders thermal socks and hats. I received a pair of socks and a hat for me and socks for The Husband. December came and went and we really didn’t need them. Then, just in time for the F3 Half Marathon, the polar vortex returned. I decided to put the Heat Holders socks to the test by wearing them in a half marathon in 6 degree weather.

Heat Holders was created by a sock maker who realized that socks were getting thinner and cheaper. Tired of thermal socks that were not warm enough, Heat Holders’ founder set out to make thermal socks “so warm that his feet would not know it was winter.” It took several years and a lot of trial and error. They wound up with a proprietary blend “nearly three times as warm as standard thermal socks and seven times warmer than basic cotton socks.” They also make hats, gloves and neck warmers.

I don’t usually try anything new before races. When I agreed to run the F3 Half in less than 10 degrees ambient, I decided to try my Heat Holders. Frozen toes are terrible – especially when you’re running long distances. I posted this in my Instagram stories and got a lot of questions. Everyone wanted to know if they “worked.”

I look happier than everyone around me, because my feet are warm!

The Heat Holders performed like a dream. My feet were honestly never cold. I really couldn’t believe it. The “Lite” socks are the medium level of warm and are four times warmer than normal cotton socks. They are thick, but not so thick that I had any issues with my running shoes.

The Husband likes his Heat Holders, too. He especially likes that they are soft on the inside and aren’t itchy like many warmer socks. We’re both big fans!

You don’t have to take my word for it! I’ll send one lucky reader a pair of Heat Holders’ Lite Thermal socks in the size and color of his/her choice. Please use the Rafflecopter below to enter. The winner must be a US resident, 18 years of age or older and the offer is void where prohibited. The giveaway ends on March 6. A winner will be selected and notified on March 7.
