Five Things Friday v. 3

It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for Friday Five 2.0. In the new format, we have no suggested themes. I’ve been struggling to decide what to blog about this week, so I’m just going to tell you “five things.”

1. Next week my travels start again and I’ve gotten used to being home. I traveled at ton from February to mid-June. Since mid-June, I’ve been here in Chicago. Next week, I’m going on 3 trips – east coast, west coast and east coast again. I have to pack my toiletries up again and my patience! I’m out of practice as a road warrior.

Nike pop-up race winner

2. I ran an 800 meter race in a parking garage! Last week, I was invited to run an “underground pop-up” race with Nike. I was told the race would be 800 meters an on a hill at 9:00 PM. My first reaction was”hell, no!” I haven’t run a race that short since 1988. Then, I got curious and said “why not?” The “hill” was a parking deck. It was 6 floors down and 6 floors up. I got Nike Pegasus 35s to test and keep and had a blast. Lesson learned? “Just Do It!”

3. I’ve gotten some cool supplements to try out including CBD oil. CBD oil was all the rage at Expo West and I haven’t tried it. The folks at Phoenix Tears Wellness sent me a sample of their vanilla CBD oil. It’s a nutritional supplement that’s made from hemp. It’s non-psychotropic and is a nutritional superfood. I’m very curious to try it. I’ll let you know what I think. This will soon be sold at 7-11 stores all over the country. Have you tried it?

Last year’s Expo East Influencer Summit

4. I’ll be attending the Influencer Summit at Expo East again. I was excited to be invited to be an Expo Blogger and to attend the Influencer Summit again this year. (Here’s last year’s recap.) Last year, I met so many people and brands and enjoyed the special perks. The only bummer is that Lauren S. will be in Berlin this year for the marathon so we won’t be able to connect. I’ll have to try to convince Lauren A. to meet me again.

5. The Husband and I still need to pick a fall vacation spot! We were looking at Croatia or Slovenia but have been told that November might not be the best time. Same for Iceland. I’ve been looking at Greece and southern Italy or maybe Rome. We’re not big beach people but want to enjoy outdoor activities in good weather. Any ideas for great places to go in November?

I’m glad it’s Friday – it’s been a long week! Have a great weekend!

PS. Don’t forget my great giveaways!
