Friday Five: 5 More Things I’d Tell You Over Coffee

The-Ultimate-Coffee-Date2-1-600x600It’s Friday, so I’m linking up with Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for Friday Five 2.0. Since it’s the first weekend of the month, I‘m also linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date, too.

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

All smiles at M2B – plus free race photos!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you… I’m still smiling about my Memorial Day weekend trip to run the Mountains 2 Beach Marathon (recap). It was such a great trip all around. I loved the race, the setting, seeing my friends and MIL and meeting new friends.

I’d also mention a strange thing that I saw in many social media posts after the race. The race is a fast one and many people ran BQs and/or personal bests. Many posts indicated PRs/Boston Qualifiers and “not meeting goals” at the same time. I wonder if social media makes people compare themselves to other runners who are way faster or something. Maybe it’s my advanced age, but I set realistic goals for my race and was happy to come close. Have you noticed this phenomena?

Back in my comfort zone on the way to Observation Point.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you… I also had an amazing time in Zion (recap). The B&B we stayed in was so inviting and they took such pride in the breakfasts. The hiking was some of the most difficult I’ve done but I did it! The company was great. I can’t wait to go on another adventure with Lauren and Russ. Do you have any summer adventures planned?

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you… I had the opportunity to go to the NCA Sweets & Snacks Show again this year (recap). The representation of healthy and healthier products gets bigger each year. I checked out a lot of new products from companies I know like nut butters from RxBar and cashew butter from Justin’s. I met a few new companies on the way out including TRU Chocolate and Java Me Up. TRU makes no sugar added chocolate products and Java Me Up has a new granola style energy bar with coffee. I’d have probably brought you a bag of treats. Don’t worry, I’ll share soon!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you… I loved this quote from Sanofi Pharmaceuticals after Roseanne Barr suggested that Ambien caused her foul tweets. They said, “While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.” Bravo, Sanofi PR, Bravo!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you… after a very busy May, I’m looking forward to few trips in June. That said, I’m eager to plan a vacation for me and The Husband. Some of the ideas we’ve discussed are Croatia, Slovenia and Iceland. We’re not wedded to any of these. Do you have any suggestions?

What’s happening by you? Please share your coffee talk in the comments!

Have a great weekend, friends!
