Tried It Tuesday: Crunchies Pure Fruit Snacks #Giveaway

6pkwvqcmThe nice folks at Crunchies Foods sent me eight flavors of their fruit snacks to try after I checked them out at Expo East. These freeze dried fruits (and veggies) retain most of the nutrients of fresh, whole fruit and have no added sugar or artificial flavoring.

Crunchies started to meet a strong demand for tasty and healthy natural snacks on the market. Founded in 2004, they aimed to develop tasty chip-like snacks without preservatives, added sugars, trans fats or excessive sodium.

The result was a line of freeze-dried fruits and vegetables. Their unique process removes 97% of the moisture in the fruit/vegetable. This creates a crunchy treat that keeps nearly of of it’s nutrients and enzymes. Crunchies are gluten free and non-GMO and are locally sourced, too.

Crunchies come in eight varieties. They are Strawberries, Grapes, Mixed Fruit, Beets, Cinnamon Apple, Pineapple, Mango and Strawberry Banana. I’ve had many varieties of freeze dried fruit. I was intrigued by the Grapes and Beets. I shared the other flavors with my friends.

How do they taste? I tried the Beets and Grapes. The beets are similar to some other products I’ve tried. They were crunchy and delicious. I ate them plain, but think they’d be nice with hummus or dip for a snack, too!

The Grapes were like nothing I’ve tried before and I loved them. They were sweet and tasty but have no added sugar. They contain one ingredient – grapes!

My friends were fans, too. Allison tried the Cinnamon Apple with her breakfast. She said, “They aren’t so much crunchy as fluffy, and they aren’t chewy like dried apples. Only 2 ingredients (!!!), so they weren’t too sweet, which I prefer. I’d like more please!” Amanda tried the Mangos and said, “Excellent stuff! Got a little stuck in my teeth but I really love the crunch. So happy about the single ingredient list! It is pretty filling, too!” Kristin liked the Strawberries and Bananas but found that powder got on her hands out of the bag. She solved that by adding it to her morning oatmeal.

Crunchies offered to send one lucky winner the same sample pack I received! Please use the Rafflecopter below to enter. The winner must be a US resident, 18 years of age or older and the offer is void where prohibited. The giveaway is open through November 24. A winner will be selected and notified on November 25.
