Good Day Chocolate – Chocolate With Benefits! #Giveaway

WQGaHy4P_400x400I received a “Good Day Chocolate with Calm” in a subscription box (still can’t remember which one!?!) and decided to try it. It was delicious so I checked out the company and found that they have “Chocolate with Sleep” and “Chocolate with Energy,” too! I wrote to them and they sent me samples of all three. They sent me extra for one lucky reader, too, so read on and enter to win!

Good Day Chocolate hand selects all natural, non-gmo, and gluten free pharmaceutical grade nutraceuticals. They mix them with premium dark and milk chocolate combinations so you get a natural and “easily controllable” treat. They create “responsible” serving sizes with keys on the dosage you “need” on their super cute boxes. They use all natural ingredients and colors from fruit and vegetable concentrate for the candy shells.

I love this adorable packaging – don’t you?

So whose idea was this anyway? In 2010, board certified physician and surgeon, Andy, began making lollipops with functional doses of common medications in his medical practice. The idea for more “responsibly dosed” dietary supplements followed. It took four years of mixing and testing, and a life-long friend who is an entrepreneur to make their “chocolate with benefits™!”

Wired? Tired? Tense? That about sums it up for me!

Good Day Chocolate comes in three varieties:

  • Chocolate with Calm has a milk chocolate base with L-Theanine, chamomile (to lighten the mood) and oat straw to improve calmness. They ask “how much calm do you need?” and the key is 2 equals “chill pill,” 4 equals “feeling fine,” 6 for “Hello mellow” and 8 (2 full servings) for “maxin’ & relaxin.”
  • Chocolate with Sleep has a milk chocolate base with melatonin to encourage sleep (1 mg per serving) and chamomile flower to lighten the mood. They ask “how much sleep do you need?” and the key is 1 for “cat nap,” 2 equals “beauty rest,” 3 for “forty winks” and 4 (2 full servings) for “out like a light.”
  • Chocolate with Energy has a dark chocolate base with green tea, B Vitamins and caffeine. Each piece has 20 mg of caffeine. They ask “how much energy do you need?” and the key is 2 equals “ready, set,” 4 equals “a bit of a bolts,” 6 puts “pep in your step” and 8 (2 full servings) for “jumping Jupiter!”

Do they work? I have been so supercharged lately that I did not notice a big boost from the Chocolate with Energy (but I do like the dark chocolate base). The Chocolate with Calm and Chocolate with Sleep taste similar to me. I think they both “work.” Whether it is a placebo or the real deal, I had these both in the evenings and did notice an impact on falling asleep. For the Chocolate with Sleep, I took one serving (2) every night for four nights and fell asleep faster. I am planning to get some Chocolate with Sleep packs to take on the road. This one is a twofer for me – better sleep and a quick sweet treat before bed. A win-win.

I will send one lucky reader one of each of the flavors to try. To enter, please use the Rafflecopter below. Winners must have a US postal address, be 18 years of age or older and this offer is void where prohibited. The giveaway runs through 3/17. A winner will be selected and notified on 3/18.
