Welcome to my 2nd annual holiday gift guide for fit folks! I feel like I am highly qualified to offer some great suggestions for all of the fit folks and runners on your list this year. I am also planning a non-runners post and a stocking stuffers post, so stay tuned! I have tested out and used SO many awesome products this year. So without further ado – awesome gifts for the runners and fitness fanatics in in your life!
Through the blog, I have worked with some awesome companies this year. I was invited to share SwimOutlet.com’s holiday gift guides with you in exchange for a store credit. I have partnered with SwimOutlet.com and YogaOutlet.com in the past and I knew they would have some awesome gifts at great prices. I will show you my picks from there and will offer one lucky reader a $50 gift card code to buy a great gift, too. (And don’t worry if you want to buy something for yourself – consider it a gift from me.) Swimoutlet.com has the best prices for swim gear but also for a ton of other sports. They also have a price match guarantee and no hassle returns. Get great prices, get gift receipts and give away!
There are tons of great ideas for swimmers, runners, triathletes, fitness buffs and “fashionistas” on Swimoutlet.com. My picks this year:
- Garmin Forerunner 15 HR Monitor and GPS watch (Sale $129.99). I usually kick it old school but I am trying a new training program this winter for LA Marathon that uses Heart Rate. I used my credit to chip in to this gift for myself!
- Sea Folly Beach Wrap and Throw (Sale $29.99). I like gifts that I would no buy myself. This is an all in one blanket/towel and beach wrap. I dig it.
- Yurbuds Focus 500 earbuds with microphone ($49.99) Yurbuds Focus 400 Earphones with 3-Button Mic (Women’s) offers sweat-proof, behind-the-ear sports fit that will not fall out during your workout or activity. They also have tangle free magnets and come in women’s and men’s sizes.
- Saucony Speed of Light Pack ($57.95) Easily hold and transport your essentials with the ultra-lightweight pack made of 100% Ripstop Nylon. When not in use, this backpack can be packed into its own internal pocket which makes it great for travel and race weekends!
- Pearl Izumi Women’s Flast Running Capris ($64.95) Everyone is wearing awesome prints. I like to wear dark, solid colors on the bottom but these are super cute! They say, “Run for miles, hit the gym, or spend a day out with friends in these comfortable, moisture-wicking leggings to experience all-day, matchless comfort.”
- The Athlete’s Fix by Pip Taylor (Velo Press $24.95) – Written by a professional triathlete who is also a nutritionist, this book helps you “find your best foods for health and performance.”
More great ideas from some of my faves:
Apera bags – Apera bags are designed to be healthier – with built-in antimicrobial product protection to inhibit the growth of bacterial odors, separation of your wet, sweaty gear from your dry stuff, and venting air to keep your bag dry and suppress odor. Apera bags also feature intelligently designed wet, dry and tech storage areas within each bag to provide an easy keep items clean and organized. Now all bags are 20% off for the holidays – no code needed.
HB Tune is my fave for bringing my phone on the run. It is made of neoprene and is sweat-resistant, the phone can be used/controlled through the plastic, there is a snap to hold in phone and an adjustable strap. The HB Tune comes in several sizes (for a variety of smart phones) and is intended to fit even large cases. The fit is very comfortable and running with it was really effortless. I really like it and barely notice it while I run. I recommend this to EVERYONE who wants to run with a phone! HB Tune has been updated and it now has a pocket for a key/money/ID, too. My new iPhone 6 fits in the larger HB Tune. This is a great gift for the runners in your life at $24.99!
Janji is an awesome running apparel company that enables runners to give back by purchasing running gear. Janji, which means “promise” in Malay, donates a portion of every sale to organizations who are providing on-the-ground solutions to real problems. They have everything from hats and accessories to tech T’s, shorts, jackets and tights. There are pieces for men and women that support a variety of charities throughout the world. This is such a cool company and the clothes are stylish and durable. A win-win gift for the runner on your list! I am loving the 1/4 zip pullover running jacket ($78.00 – These jacket gives 3 years of clean water to a person in Tanzania) and the women’s running tights ($68 – These tights give 3 years of clean water to a person in Tanzania.) Through December 6th, you can enter to win any piece on in my “Thankful for my followers, Holiday Hop Giveaway.” Enter HERE.
Atayne makes “progressive outdoor and active apparel that drives positive environmental and social change.” ALL of their products are made from 100% recycled polyester derived from plastic bottles. Atayne’s products prevent usable materials from going into landfills and save considerable energy and water compared to “virgin” polyester. Also, all printing is done with inks free of hormone disrupting phthalates. Oh, and the clothes are stylish, well made durable and just plain awesome! This is a great gift for your environmentally conscious runner! They make short and long sleeve tech shirts for men and women.
They also launched a new line called MyPlayground. They say, “at MyPlayground, we celebrate the places where adventurous souls love to play by offering gear and experiences inspired by our passion for active play + outdoor places. All our products are proudly made in the USA, and we donate a portion of all sales to organizations creating access to awesome outdoor places.” They make long and short sleeve tech shorts celebrating various sports in the 50 states. These are super fun! Get 10% off for signing up for their newsletter.
Fitness subscription boxes!
- Runnerbox is a subscription box for runners (and they have one for bikers and one for triathletes, too!) You know I love my subscription boxes and this is a great one for runners. You can gift a holiday gift box ($30), a Starter Pack of 2 boxes over 4 months ($25 each) or a longer subscription. I reviewed the gluten free box and pretty much loved every product! Your runners will thank you for this one.
- Fitsnack– Like me, the founder of Fit Snack is a traveler and fitness buff and “found a void in the fitness world” – healthy snacks on the go. Fit Snack arrived with the mission to save subscribers the time and effort involved in the search for delicious and nutritious foods. They search for snacks with “nutrient dense energy.” Fitsnack focuses on snacks with high protein, complex carbs, low sugar, GMO free, paleo, gluten free, clean eating, sustainable, organic and raw. You can also gift a membership. Erica Finds readers get a special Fit Snack string bag if they order through this link.
I have a ton of additional stocking stuffer ideas for runners and fit folks. I am going to do another post on those.
