You may remember that I met Amanda from Benefit Foods at the San Luis Opisbo Half Marathon in April. I love to try new healthy products and especially love it when I get to meet the owners/creators, too! Like me, Amanda traveled a lot and found it difficult to find good, clean snacks and healthy foods on the road. The bars get protein (5 grams per bar) from raw cashews, roasted almonds, wholesome nut butters and raw coconut. Benefit Foods VBARs are vegan, gluten free and free of GMOs. They contain no soy or dairy, no preservatives or artificial ingredients. My faves are the Almond/Cherry and the Sunflower/Ginger. The Almond/Chip and Almond/Blueberry are close runner ups. Meryl’s fave is the Almond/Cherry. These bars are the perfect addition to my travel bag or morning coffee! They are tasty, filling and not too sweet – plus they are super clean and healthy. All of these attributes are key for me.
