Grab a Cup for the February Ultimate Coffee Date!

The-Ultimate-Coffee-Date2-1-600x600Welcome to the 2nd Ultimate Coffee Date link up of 2018. I‘m linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner. Just like that, January has flown by. Here’s to February fun!

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

Still laughing after all these years!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that this month, The Husband and I will have been together for 20 years. Holy crap! Where does the time go? We met in 1997 and started dating in February of 1998. It seems like it’s gone by in a blink and yet like forever. Either way, I’m grateful and lucky. And, as Grandpa Rube used to say, “It’s better to be lucky than smart.” I’d ask if you had any momentous occasions coming up.

If we were having coffee… I’d say that I can’t believe Cycle for Survival is next weekend. Then, I’d ask if you’d like to contribute to beat rare cancers (and to enter to win great prizes in my raffle!) This is the 7th year I’ve participated and the rides have raised over 150 million dollars for cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering to date! My teams have raised over $80,000!

Fun running with my colleagues in SF!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you about the week I just spent in San Francisco for work. I’d been home for a month straight so my traveling shoes were a bit squeaky. I loved the beautiful weather, morning running and meeting with colleagues in person for a change. I had to get used to the morning-noon-night work obligations and events. Despite being a very social person, I need my personal space and alone time. I’d ask if you ever felt that way and if you have any ideas on how to manage it.

If we were having coffee… I’d ask if you had any vacations or fun events on the horizon. I have a bunch of work trips and am heading to Expo West again (YAY!). I’m also headed to NYC for the NYC Half in March. I have some races and a hiking trip planned for May, too. The Husband and I need a vacation. Any ideas?

If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!

PS. Please don’t forget my great giveaways.

Happy Anniversary, time does pass quickly doesnt it? I look back and realize I have been married to my husband way past half my life (including dating) Enjoy you time!
It is cold as can be here, so not a a whole lot happening.
I would also thank you for cycling for rare cancers- hubby has one that is so far in remission there have only been 25 cases reported of it.

  3. Happy Anniversary ! My Great Grandparents just celebrate there 62nd anniversary this weekend. Such a great accomplishment , I love it.

  4. Coco says:

Oh, I can’t wait to hear what you think about the new NYC half course. I think one reason my work trips seem so grueling is that I don’t get much down time. Since I’m usually going west I try to take advantage of the time difference and get up early. I also will not be in the group that closes the bar down … no matter how much good gossip I miss out on. 😉

    • Erica A says:

Frankly, I’m bummed about the new course b/c the old one is SO good! And the finish on the hills scares me now that I’m a flatlander! I’m the same with time difference and skipping the late night bar for sure!

  5. I love that you do the cycle for survival good luck with that. Happy anniversary to you all! Time does fly. Thanks for joining us for the coffee date
