Tried It Tuesday: Partake Foods #Kickstarter

iqohs6he_400x400Denise from Partake Foods messaged me to see if I wanted to check out their new allergen free cookies. Did she says “cookies”? Of course, I said “yes.” I mean, who am I to turn down safe cookies? Partake Foods is a new kids’ food brand that is free of the top 8 allergens. [In case you are not familiar, the “top 8” are: wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, soy, fish and shellfish. These make up 90% of all food allergies and 1 in 13 kids have food allergies!]

Denise started Partake Foods earlier this year. Why? She couldn’t find healthy, convenient meal and snack options for her 18 month old daughter, Vivienne, who has severe food allergies. So, she started making her own.

Partake Foods are allergen free and are also non-GMO, free of artificial colors & preservatives and kosher. The cookies are made with fruits, vegetables and transparently sourced ingredients from trusted suppliers. They are made in a facility free of the top 8 allergens, too.

Their first products are 3 flavors of mini cookies. They are Sweet Potato Ginger Millet, Blueberry Buckwheat Maple and Carrot Beet Flax.

Denise sent me pre-production samples of all three flavors. They have a food scientist perfecting the recipes right now. They’re already very tasty! I especially liked the Blueberry Buckwheat Maple. All three have a great texture – a good mix of crunchy and soft. I can’t wait to test the production batches. I’ll get some of the first run because I supported Partake Foods’ Kickstarter.
