Friday Five: 5 New Fave Food (& Drink) Finds

It’s Friday, so I am linking up with Courtney at Eat, Pray, Run DC, Cynthia at You Signed Up for What and Mar at Mar on the Run for their weekly linkup. Each week they pick a theme and bloggers join in and link up. This year instead of specific themes, they are letting us be creative with broad themes for each week of the month. This is the a “food” themed week.

five new fave fi 2

You may have noticed that I have been talking A LOT about healthy food finds for the last few weeks. Well, my cupboard truly runs over since I have connected with some amazing folks after Expo West. Plus, I just can’t stop looking for new things. These are the foods and drinks that I’ve found recently. Stay tuned, there will be a giveaway in the next few weeks!

Another Five New Fave Food (& Drink) Finds

buendia jicama crisps

1. Buendia Jicama Crisps – The folks at Buendia Jicama Crisps followed me on Twitter. Then, they offered to send me some jicama chips to try. Yes, please! These simple crisps are jicama, with a little coconut oil and salt baked and packaged. They come from five friends in Cambridge, Mass (who may be students at HBS according to the box they came in!) These crisps are super tasty. I look forward to keeping up with these guys and watching their business grow. You can find them on the web and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

iheartkeenwah chocolate puffs

2. I Heart Keenwah Chocolate Puffs  – I went to the One of a Kind Show in Chicago last weekend and saw that I Heart Keenwah was sampling their new product – Dark Chocolate Puffs. They take their Quinoa Puffs and wrap them in vegan dark chocolate. There are two flavors: Dark Chocolate Himalayan Sea Salt and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter. I love the I Heart Keenwah Puffs. I expected to love the chocolate peanut butter ones best but I was blown away by the chocolate sea salt ones. So good! These just launched so keep an eye out at a store near you. You can also get these on the web and follow on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

amy and brians cinnamon

3. Amy & Brian Coconut Water with CinnamonI tried Amy & Brian Coconut Water at Expo West, but I was over fed and over full. They reached out to see if I wanted to try the coconut water and offer a giveaway. They told me about the flavors including cinnamon. I LOVE cinnamon and I love this coconut water. Stay tuned for a full review of original, cinnamon and grape coconut waters and a GIVEAWAY! In the mean time, you can find Amy and Brian on the web, Amazon and on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

nothing but real

4. Nothing But Real Oat Chocolate & Protein– The Kickstarter said “Health & Chocolate Together At Last.” So, they basically had me at “hello.” This vegan, all natural, soy free, non dairy, plant based protein drink is sweetened with maple syrup and no other added sugar. It tastes great and is a terrific snack or meal replacement. They are just launching so you can learn more on the web. If you see this, try it!

kerfluffle smores

5. Kerfluffle Nut Butter S’mores – This delicious nut butter mixed with marshmallow and chocolate chips falls into the “where have you been all of my life” category. Kerfluffle is all-natural, organic peanut butter and swirled with sweet, creamy marshmallow fluff. The s’mores flavor adds mini chocolate chunks for “an over-the-top peanut butter treat.” Both flavors are gluten free, vegetarian and all-natural (the fluff contains no artificial color or artificial flavor.) This is seriously off the hook, a “healthier” treat and less calories than most nut butters. You can buy a sample pack of both flavors on the web. Also, you can follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

It is amazing how many MORE awesome new healthy/healthier products that there are out there! I can’t wait to try them all!

Which of these sounds best to you? Have you found any new healthy products I should be on the look out for? Please tell me about them in the comments!

Have a great weekend, all!
