Stay Cool with SUB Sports Dual Compression #Giveaway

2cded3610a8cd5b121a170345b122e2d_400x400I’m not going to lie…It is pretty awesome when a new company reaches out to see if I want to try some new running gear. Sam from SUB Sports in the UK wrote to me after seeing one of my giveaways and asked me if I wanted to try out some of their compression leggings.

Since it’s summer, I asked to check out the 3/4 length all weather compression tights. Why? They are billed as “comfortable whatever the weather.” They serve as a midweight compression base later is designed for all season use. They says,  the “advanced high-wicking fabric helps you to stay dry by transporting moisture away from the skin, whilst its tight fit provides targeted compression to your key muscle groups, increasing your power and endurance.” They say “whilst” because they are from the UK, of course. The tights are 82% Nylon and 18% Elastane. The fabric is light and very fitted but has a nice feel, too.

They sent me an awesome blue pair of the 3/4 tights in a size small. I ordered small based on the size chart, but they seemed super tiny when I pulled them out of the bag. Phew, they stretch. They are fitted but not uncomfortable like some compression gear. The waist is high and I like the “sucking” in feeling. The fabric is taut but fits well without bulges or gathers. The material is meant to help you to stay cool when it is hot and warm when it is cold. The compression increases circulation.

In a strange turn of events, it was cool one June evening for our speed work on the track. I wore the leggings and they were super comfortable out of the gate. I love the material and the feeling of them “holding everything together” on the track. As I mentioned, I like the high waist, too.

Team Superfan – Steelhead Edition

This weekend, Kristin, Stacy and I decided to drive to Michigan to cheer our friends on in the Steelhead Half Ironman. We planned to run from the bike transition to the running course and back as well as to the race start from the parking lot. I thought the compression would be good for the long car ride, too.  I was right! The material is light enough that I did not feel overheated and the compression kept my legs feeling good after the long car rides. They look good, too!

I can’t wait to test these out in some fall long runs and races! Great news, SUB Sports offered a pair of 3/4 leggings (or a Dual Compression piece for a male winner). The winner must be a US or UK resident, 18 years of age or older and the offer is void where prohibited. The giveaway runs through August 20th. A winner will be selected and notified on August 21st.
