Ultimate-Coffee-Date-Badge-e1416682466503I can’t believe it has already been a month since the last Ultimate Coffee Date link up! Another year is flying by. I‘m linking up again with Coco @ Running with Perseverance, Lynda @ Fitness Mom Wine Country, & Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the eighth “Ultimate Coffee Date” of 2015. What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup and “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

Chicago fun with my niece!

If we were having coffee… I would tell you that I have been having a ton of fun with my niece, Kayla, who came to Chicago for her first solo trip with out her parents. I won’t lie, I was a bit nervous that she’s be bored or that we’d run out of things to do or talk about. The Husband is racing this weekend so it is a girl’s weekend. So far, we have eaten at Eataly and Shake Shack, gone to Millennium Park, The Art Institute, Green City Market, saw Pippin and the Blue Man Group, shopped the Magnificent Mile including a fun little make over and took the Chicago Architecture Foundation boat tour.  Today, we’ll hit the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Conservatory and chill out. The Husband will be back tonight for dinner, too. Phew. I am tired just writing this but I think I will end the weekend as a pretty “cool” aunt. Then, I will need a rest.

Can’t wait to see Medellin!

If we were having coffee… I would tell you that I am getting SO excited about our trip to Medellin in med August. We booked a hotel and have some great ideas from David Lee’s Medellin Travel Guide and this awesome 36 hours story from the New York Times. I need to figure out when I got a typhoid shot and get one. Can’t wait to see Rhys and hear about all of her adventures first hand.

Alcatraz, faster run with low perceived effort due to low humidity and me and Amy!

If we were having coffee… I would tell you that I love running in San Francisco in the summer – think low humidity. And, I have to remember to go to visit my colleagues in person more often. Seeing people in person makes a huge difference! I would also tell you that I have started recruiting friends and colleagues to come out to run the SF Marathon in 2016. Why? It is the 20th anniversary of my 1st marathon. Want to come? You can run the full, first or second half or come out to cheer. In a funny turn of events, I mentioned this to my former colleague, Amy, who I met up with and it was her first marathon in 1996, too. She has run one every 10 years only. When she joins me (I am optimistic), it will be her 3rd marathon and my 43rd!
