Spring Forward! March Ultimate Coffee Date

I can’t believe it is Daylight Savings Time – Spring Forward, friends! I‘m linking up again with Coco @ Running with Perseverance, Lynda @ Fitness Mom Wine Country, & Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the third “Ultimate Coffee Date” for 2015. What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you.

The Ultimate Coffee Date

If we were having coffee together… I would tell you that I am still smiling from my marathon last weekend in Phoenix. After so many marathons where I ended with regrets, I am hard pressed to find anything that I would change. Well, maybe the headwind for the second half. LOL. That was outside of my control. I hope that I can harness the power of positive thinking and run strong and happy for the rest of the year! (You can find my full Phoenix Marathon race report here.)

All smiles!

If we were having coffee together… I would tell you that my travel schedule from 2/25 – 3/25 is a bit nutty. From 2/25 to 3/3, I hit all four time zones. I will sleep somewhere other than my bed 15 nights in this period. Oh, and my days at home are pretty much the opposite of The Husband’s.  And the Husband and I will be in different places 19 nights from 2/22 through 3/25. Two trips are for fun – Phoenix and NJ/NYC and the rest are for work. I may have Gold status on American before the 1st quarter is over. My hope is that the traveling will calm down a bit in April. I only have two trips scheduled so far for April – fingers crossed that this will hold up. If you need me… check O’Hare first.

If we were having coffee together… I would remind you that for the 4th year in a row, I am joining the Alexandra’s Playground NYC Half Marathon Team. Last year, we over $50,000 to build playgrounds and deliver programs all over the world. Through the end of last year, Alexandra’s Playground has funded and participated in 14 playground builds in the US, Haiti and Afghanistan; they have also installed an interactive play exhibit at NY Presbyterian Children’s Hospital and produced a video on pediatric concussions. A $10 donation or a share gets you entries. Every $5 or share is one entry! Check out this post for all of the details. And remember, you have to be #inittowinit! Also I would remind you not to miss the opportunity to win a Pace Yourself T supporting Serena’s Warriors and enter to win #alloftheprizes in over 40 giveaways in the Wednesday Giveaway Round Up Link Up.

If we were having coffee together… I would tell you to check out a new (new-ish) fave podcast called Death, Sex and Money with Anna Sale. I can’t stop thinking about the “Cheating Happens” episode. Becky and I were chatting about it on the run yesterday morning. Now, I am wondering if everyone cheats or gets cheated on – I hope not! Definitely worth a listen! I absolutely love the first episode I heard with Senator Alan Simpson and his wife. I just downloaded New Tech City at Anna Sale’s suggestion. I will let you know how I like it. Have you listened to anything good lately??

If we were having coffee together… I would tell you that I accidentally left my Kindle in DC (but they are sending it back tomorrow – phew). I picked up The Silent Wife by A. S. A. Harrison. It contains more cheating and a couple that lives in a Chicago high rise with a lake view. It has been called “this year’s Gone Girl.” We’ll see – so far so good! Hopefully not too close to home!
