Stay Healthy and Hydrated with Ohyo Bottles #Giveaway

You know that I love to travel and look for products that make being on the road easier. One of the easiest ways to feel good is to stay hydrated. With TSA rules as they are, it can cost a pretty penny to get your H20 and it is not  environmentally friendly to buy a zillion dollar water at the airport (or anywhere on the go).

In 2013, I reviewed the Ohyo “collapsabottle”. Recently they asked me to tell you about their new 1 liter bottle – the Ohyo 1000. They sent me a couple to try and to share. They also offered one of each size (the original 500 ml bottle and the new 1000) as an additional prize for my Cycle for Survival raffle, too! Read on and enter to win the new Ohyo 1000!

Why is Ohyo on a mission to change the way we drink water? If you have time, take 2 minutes to check out Ohyo’s movie:

What is an Ohyo bottle? It is a “collapsabottle” (collapsible water bottle) that’s easy to take anywhere. When it is empty, the original 500 ml bottle “squishes” down to about 2 1/2 inches high. When you are ready to use it, you can extend it (think of an accordion) to hold half a liter (16 oz) of water or other cold beverage. It also has a convenient straw on the top.

Now they offer a bigger collapsabottle – the Ohyo 1000. The Ohyo 1000 has a metal hanging clip and is designed for pouring or drinking. It is perfect for hiking, camping or picnics. It is also great to bring to the airport to fill at the fountain after you get through security. The extended bottle holds over 1 liter of water and empty it is about one-third the size.

Benefits:

  • Good for the environment – Refill your Ohyo from the tap just 2 to 3 times and it’s carbon neutral (metal flasks have higher carbon footprints, typically requiring 100 refills).
  • Convenient – easy to stash in your bag.
  • Dishwasher safe – yay!
  • BPA Free
  • Durable design – it is tested for over 10,000 “squishes”!
  • Inexpensive – they say they are “easy on the wallet and the world.”
  • Guaranteed for life!

Note: Keep in mind the Ohyo is not intended for hot drinks or “fizzy” drinks. Colored drinks may stain.

The new Ohyo 1000 has an easy pour top. The 500 ml bottles have a drinking straw which is cleverly designed but takes some practice. You can check out my original post to learn more. The one thing I was worried about with both bottles is water getting into the folds and getting moldy or icky. The good news is if you leave the bottles out for a few hours to dry with the top off they dry evenly. They are also dishwasher safe to give them a power clean.

You can keep up with Ohyo on Twitter or Facebook. You can now get Ohyos in the original 500 ml or the new 1 liter version on Amazon (prime eligible!) The 500 ml are $8.99 and the 1000 ml are $19.99. You can get a great deal right now on 500 ml bottles – 1/2 price if you buy a 10 pack! The small bottles are great for lunch boxes and kid’s backpacks.

The folks at Ohyo sent me two of the one liter bottles and I am going to give one away. Enter with the Rafflecopter below. Prize for US participants who are 18 years of age and above only. Void where prohibited. Contest runs through February 19th. Winner will be selected and notified on February 20th.
