Racefood Fastbar – Only at RacePak in the US! #Giveaway

Do you want to be the first on your block to try an amazing new performance energy bar? You know I did. I was the first on my block to try Racefood Fastbars. Racefood is a nougat style energy bar from South Africa that is only available in the US from my friends at RacePak (review). Tyler, one of RacePak’s founders, told me it was amazing and asked me if I wanted to try it and to offer a giveaway for my readers. Was this a rhetorical question? YES, of course, Tyler!

This bar looks like a piece of nougat with cranberry and almonds. I forgot to take a picture before gobbling it up. Bad blogger!

Racefood is a small, nougat based bar that is made up a great mix of simple and complex carbohydrates. It has protein and fats from the almonds and egg white and dried cranberries and honey for “a hint” of sweetness. Racefood also has no cholesterol, no preservatives, no artificial colors and is dairy and gluten free.

Racefood can be used as an energy snack before or after any activity. They say “the real value is appreciated by endurance athletes who seek the right mix of simple and complex carbs that help them to maintain a sustained energy level during events.” Here are the facts about Racefood.

RacePak’s Take:

“Tired of gels? If you’ve been looking for a real food / healthy alternative to gels, your prayers have finally been answered. This “mini bar” is not only extremely portable, but unbelievably delicious. I would eat these even if I wasn’t in the midst of a workout. The fact that this natural food bar can taste this good and also fuel my workouts is almost too be true. Those South Africans really know how to make a great product.”

My take: Oh MY Goodness! I LOVE Racefood Fastbars! This bar tastes AMAZING. I honestly emailed Tyler and said something to this effect “this can not be good for me but if you promise it is, I am so IN!” When we went to South Africa, I loved the nougat. This is a light and delicious version of a traditional nougat. Each small bar is only 85 calories. I ate this before a 7 miler and a 6 miler and both went well. I was surprisingly not hungry after finishing my runs despite it being low calorie. I will say, I find it to more more than a “hint” sweet. I was a bit worried that it would be too sweet for morning, but it was OK for me. I could see having this to curb an afternoon sweet tooth, too. My advice – try Racefood.
