Friday Finds: Be A Do-Gooder, Be With the Band (Sort of!) & Deals

pride stuffIn Chicago, want to do a good deed? How about helping out at the Pride Fest or the Proud to Run 5K or 10K to help Richard and my friends at TPAN. Pride Fest volunteers will receive $10 an hour to donate to their favorite Ride for AIDS rider and free admission to Pride Fest all weekend. Proud to Run volunteers get a $50 fundraising credit. Don’t know someone who is riding? I DO!

Pride Fest – Volunteer at Pride Fest to earn money for Ride for AIDS Chicago! Whether you are riding, crewing, or know someone who is participating—when you sign up to volunteer for a shift (or two) working the gates at Pride Fest, on June 22nd and 23rd, you will make $10 an hour that goes directly to your RFAC fundraising goal, or to the rider or crew of your choosing. In addition, every volunteer gets free admission to Pride Fest all weekend long! Get your family and friends to volunteer, too! Click here to sign up!

Proud to Run – A part of Chicago’s Gay and Lesbian Pride Week activities since 1982, Proud To Run (PTR) is an annual charity event focused on celebrating pride in a healthy way and raising funds to support the greater Chicago area LGBTQI&A community by hosting a 10K run & 5K run/walk.

TPAN is a beneficiary of the 2013 Proud to Run and will receive between $3,000 to $5,000 in unrestricted funds from PTR. But, they need volunteers to help out! The 32nd Annual PTR event will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2013. Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles and start times on June 29th from 6:15 AM through 11:30 (some start as late as 10:00 AM or end by 9:00 AM) CLICK HERE to sign up! Join me for this one!

Or how about this? I am not even a pet person, but I think it is worthwhile to spend a minute reviewing this video. Then sign the Humane Society pledge (requires an email address) to help stop puppy mills. Great cause. No cost to you. No donation required.
