5 Things I’d Tell You Over Coffee This February ’26

It’s the first weekend of the month, so I‘m linking up with Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date. January was VERY cold and VERY long here in Chicago, so I am happy to turn the page on it! Let’s get some coffee and chat!

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

If we were having coffee… I’d probably ask you how your holidays or any winter trips were. This week I connected with a few friends who were traveling or busy over the holidays for the first time this year. Seems kind of late to say “Happy New Year” but that’s where it’s at!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m looking forward to participating in my 15th year of Cycle for Survival! I’m so proud of our team. We’re over $20,000 for our 8 member team. And in the past 20 year, Cycle for Survival has raised over $420 million to support rare cancer research (rare cancers include over 50% of all cancers including almost all pediatric cancers). The events are always so much fun, too! I also have a 50th birthday party for a dear friend and am volunteering at Miles Per Hour – an indoor race at the Chicago Auto Show. I’d ask what you’re up to this weekend.

If we were having coffee… I’d ask if you’re planning to watch the Winter Olympics and/or Super Bowl and what your favorite events are. I’m planning to watch some of both. I’m routing for the Seahawks (mostly rooting against the Patriots) and am excited to see Bad Bunny’s half time show. I’ve been learning some of the lyrics and the beats are so joyful! As far as the Winter Olympics, I’m in it for the vibes and am excited to see the new Ski Mountaineering. That looks rad to me as a runner. What will you watch and who are you rooting for?

If we were having coffee… I’d ask what you’re reading and watching and what your favorite books, movies and shows have been lately. We’re watching Veronica Mars on Netflix (and it’s a ton of fun!) I’m going to try to keep a list of books that I read or listen to this year. This month I’ve already finished What Kind of Paradise by Janelle Brown (a fictionalized story about the Unibomber) and Her Beautiful Life by Brianna Lubuskes (another trad wife/journalist story). I would recommend the former and not the latter. Everyone is Lying to You by Jo Piazza was way better. What are you reading and watching?

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m starting to get Expo West pitches and sample offers and I’m getting excited. February is a short month, so it will be here before we know it. I’d ask if there are any new healthy and/or natural products that you’ve been wanting to try that I should look out for.

If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!
