I met the team from Tastelli at Sweets & Snacks last year. I had tried a few brands of Konjac Jelly and was excited to check out the Lychee flavor. Konjac jelly is a popular Asian snack. Konjac jelly is a popular low-calorie, high-fiber snack made from the konjac root. It’s filling and tasty and comes in convenient pouches for a quick snack at home or on the go.
Like many healthy snacks that I’ve tried, Tastelli was founded by a team of three who couldn’t find healthy, affordable snacks they wanted. They were familiar with konjac jelly and could find it occasionally in Asian markets. They wanted to create a version that was more nutritious and tastier to the average American palate. They tested several formulations and solicited the opinions of their friends and family until they had a winning product. They were told the flavor was reminiscent of a “very tasty konjac jelly”, so the name, Tastelli, was created!
Tastelli is plant-based and contains collagen and Vitamins A, C & E. It’s vegan, keto-friendly, sugar-free and gluten free. It is very low calorie (10 calories per pouch) and is sweetened with erythritol, a natural sweetener.
Tastelli comes in five flavors. They are Apple Green Grape, Mango Pineapple, Peach, Lychee and Double Berry.
The team from Tastelli sent me pouches for a bunch of running events I was hosting last fall. They recently sent me four varieties to enjoy and share. I like to refrigerate the pouches – especially in warmer weather. They’re very refreshing after a run and are great with your afternoon snack. They’re surprisingly filling! I like all of the flavors but if I had to pick one to try, I’d go for Apple Green Grape or Mango Pineapple.
