I tried MUD\WTR‘s Original Blend in 2024 after being influenced by social media. MUD\WTR is an organic masala chai drink enhanced with adaptogens to boost energy with a fraction of the caffeine of coffee. They offered me the opportunity to try it at no cost and to join their ambassador program if I liked it. I had the opportunity to be among the first people to try their new coffee.
MUD\WTR was created to reduce the founder’s coffee dependence. He wanted a more balanced approach to boosting focus and wakefulness. So, he blended masala chai with “a hall of fame ingredient list” including Lion’s mane for focus, chaga and reishi to support a healthy immune system, cordyceps to promote natural energy, turmeric and cinnamon for antioxidants and cacao for mood and energy. The new mushroom coffee has a mix of decaffeinated Swiss coffee, Arabica coffee, 2 grams of mushrooms and l-theanine.

MUD\WTR is made with 100% USDA Organic, non-GMO ingredients. It’s gluten free, vegan, Whole30 and contains no sugar or sweeteners. The new coffee has 45mg of caffeine (about half of what’s in a regular cup of coffee) and l-theanine for a “calm energy.”

MUD\WTR Coffee tastes good. They recommend mixing it with 1/4 cup of your favorite milk and a teaspoon of honey. I added, oat milk, cinnamon and a bit of cardamom and honey. It has a pleasant taste. It’s definitely more herbal than my regular coffee but I enjoyed it and will keep using it.
