5 Things I’d Tell You Over Coffee This December ’25

It’s the first weekend of the month so I’m having some virtual coffee. I‘m linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date.

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

Still dreaming of this coffee and view from Monteverde

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you all about our recent trip to Costa Rica. It was so nice to get away and to be in nature. We hiked a bunch, went on nature walks (to see sloths and night time creatures), zip-lined, went sailing and relaxed. It was awesome. I’d tell you that I used kimkim for the first time, but definitely not the last. You take a quiz on the site and they match you with local travel companies. We loved all of the locations and guides that we had and the attentive service. A bunch of the vendors recognized our anniversary. So cool.

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that this weekend is my birthday. One more year until a new age group. The years keep flying by (although this year has also felt endless with all of the craziness in the world). I know what I’m wishing for on my birthday candles – peace on earth and goodwill towards everyone.

CIM 2023. Lake run us in and Christy’s 1st marathon finish

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m in Sacramento. Veronica and I are doing the California International Marathon (CIM) relay. I’ve paced friends in the full marathon twice. Christy and Ken are going for BQs so that they can run it together in 2027 and Lake is running to relay. Veronica and I are excited to hang with Lake and her friend and cheer on Ken and Christy.

If we were having coffee… I’d ask if you finished your holiday shopping or had any fun gifts in mind. I’d encourage you to check out my gift guides – for runners and fit folks and for most everyone else. We only buy gifts for our nieces and nephew so it’s pretty easy around here. I’m also doing an angel tree for a family in Chicago with four boys under 7, so that’s been fun!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that Veronica and I had a ton of fun on our run in Folsom this morning. It’s foggy and chilly but it made the reflections on the river amazing. Even though I’ve been here before, we took a fun route that was a mix of trails and road and we checked out the state park where the first hydroelectric plant in the US was (build in 1896!). I’d ask if you like to explore on your runs?

If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!

Have a good weekend!

PS. Please don’t forget my great giveaways.
