It’s the first weekend of the month, so I‘m linking up with Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date. It’s finally looking and feeling like fall here in Chicago – just in time for winter – LOL. I love fall so I’m hoping it will stick around a bit. Before we know it, we’ll be bundled up for winter. At least we’ll have a nice hot cup of coffee!
What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m still smiling after the NYC Marathon last weekend. It was my slowest of the 25 that I’ve run but one of the ones I’m most proud of. After feeling terrible and disappointed in Chicago and Tokyo this year, I ran with joy and really had fun. I had a lot of friends out especially in the last 10 miles and it was pretty great. Here’s my recap if you missed it!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that we finally got some beautiful fall colors in Chicago. Better late than never! I’d ask how it looks near you.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that we FINALLY landed on a vacation spot. After tossing around Morocco, Portugal and Croatia, we decided on Costa Rica. With all of the craziness in the world, I decided that we could use some natural beauty to cheer us up. We went to Costa Rica for a long weekend when we lived in NYC but only saw one small part (Jaco and Manuel Antonio). We’re going to Arenal, Monteverde and Tamarindo. Stay tuned for LOTS of photos.

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you I went to the Arc’teryx Winter Launch last night and also did a ski “fit session.” The launch this year’s Arc’teryx Films premiere, hot chocolate, popcorn and a lot of good cheer. I like this colorway on the women’s ski gear, too. I don’t ski but it’s fun to watch the pros and try on the gear. I’d ask if you’re planning to ski this year.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that my book club read The Correspondent by Virginia Evans and I absolutely loved it. It was a very interesting story told through many years of mail correspondence. It made me nostalgic and also reminded me of the power of letters that can be saved and cherished. I also read Broken Country by Claire Leslie Hall. It was so well written but also devastating as the story unfolds in flashbacks. I also read The Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. It’s a romatasy (romance-fantasy) – not usually my thing but I enjoyed it and the main themes are very relevant to today. I’d ask what you’re reading now.
If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!
I’m linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida, for Fit Five Friday. Join us!
PS. Please don’t forget my great giveaways.
