One of my summer travel “must haves” is my ChicoBag Travel Pack. Recently, they upgraded the material to rePETe + Refine material made from recycled plastic bottles. In 2004, the founder of ChicoBag went to a landfill and was overwhelmed with the amount of plastic bags and waste. He then saw them everywhere. He got a second hand sewing machine and made some reusable bags and ChicoBag was born. This lightweight travel-ready backpack works for a day hike, shopping and traveling the world. You can stow it in your suitcase or clip it to your carry-on so you’ve got a backpack when you arrive. It weighs 7 ounces and folds into a pouch. It doesn’t add bulk to your gear and you’ll have an extra 15L pack when you need it. The backpack has a large 15L main compartment, stretchy side bottle pockets and top zipped stash pocket. The shoulder straps are adjustable and there’s a sternum strap for added stabilization.
The backpack is available in four solid colors and four prints. The solids are obsidian (black), sapphire, sage and jasper. The prints are Mountainscape, Night Sky, Retro Stripe and Lunar Daze.
I’ve used my ChicoBag Travel Pack all over the world. I bought it for my running trip with Aire Libre in Mexico City in 2020. It’s great for running because of the side pockets for water and the sternum strap so it doesn’t bounce. We used it in the Galapagos and it fit towels, water shoes, snacks and more. I swear by this pack and recommend it to everyone!
