I met Kristen from Timbar at Sweets and Snacks this year. I saw the Cinnamon Roll protein bar so I wanted to try it, because it’s one of my favorite bar flavors. Timbar protein bars are made with real ingredients and they’re plant based and gluten free. I grabbed one to try and Kristen sent me some to enjoy at home. Timbar founder, Kristen Gilkison, is a Physician Assistant, fitness enthusiast and mom. She set out to create something that “bridged the gap between clean nutrition and real-life convenience.” She wanted to make protein bars that supported wellness without sacrificing taste. As someone with Celiac Disease, Kristen understands the frustration of finding gluten-free products that are both safe and enjoyable to eat.
Kristen was inspired to create a bar that “felt like a treat but was packed with purpose.” Timbars are made with real ingredients, rich in plant-based protein and fiber and naturally sweetened with honey. They are plant based, gluten free, dairy free, egg free, preservative free and certified non-GMO. Each 220 – 230 calorie bar has 12g of protein. They also contain prebiotic fiber for gut health.
Timbars come in three flavors. They are Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate Brownie and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip is currently sold out and is being reformulated.
I like the Cinnamon Roll and Chocolate Brownie a lot. These bars are not too sweet and are good with breakfast, pre-workout or as an afternoon snack.
