I met the team from Waka Coffee at Expo West. They gave me a variety of instant coffee packets to try. If you’ve been around here, you know that I’m always on the look out for great instant coffees for my travels or when I only need one cup. It’s a bit of an obsession. Waka does not disappoint!
Waka’s founder came up with the idea for it while juggling a hectic schedule as a full-time student with a full-time job. He relied on coffee to fuel his daily routine. He found that going to coffee shops was expensive and making coffee in his cramped kitchen was complicated and time-consuming. He wanted something fast and easy – instant. He wanted to make instant coffee but from high quality beans that make coffee you want to drink. Now, recognizing that processing coffee and tea requires a significant amount of water, they donate to support clean water initiatives in developing countries throughout Africa, Asia, and South America.

Waka coffees are made from 100% Arabica beans and freeze dried. There are no additives or sweeteners. The coffee can be made hot or cold and it simply dissolves in water. The coffee comes in medium and dark roast, decaffeinated and in a variety of flavors.

Waka teas come in black, green, decaf and a variety of flavors. They also make a chai tea and vanilla chai tea.

Waka sent me some chai tea to try and some more coffee to enjoy. The single serves are great for travel and the pouches have a TON of servings. They’re a great deal!

I love the Waka coffee packets for when I’m on the road. The pouches are great for at home. The medium roast coffee and decaf are both really great. And the chai tea was perfect with a few ounces of oat milk. I love that it has no sugar or artificial sweeteners.
