Tried it Tuesday: Barely Hazelnut + Cocoa Spread #Giveaway

I recently had the opportunity to try Barely Hazelnut + Cocoa Spread. It has 80% less sugar than similar spreads and no artificial sweeteners. Barely is made with O’Taste micromilling technology to create the taste you want with a fraction of the sugar.

O’Taste is an exciting new technology in the food industry. Using all-natural sugar, O’Taste enhances the sweet taste of our products while significantly reducing the amount of sugar used. The process requires no artificial sweeteners or chemical additives and the products have no aftertaste or texture issues.

Barely is low in sugar, high in fiber and contains no artificial sweeteners. The spread is vegan and Keto friendly.

I decided to make energy balls to fuel my winter running. I adapted a recipe from Woman Scribbles.

No Bake Cocoa + Hazelnut Energy Balls

Ingredients:
– 2/3 c. of Barely Hazelnut + Cocoa Spread
– 1 1/4 c. quick cooking oats
– 1/4 c. of honey (I used Manuka Honey)
– 1/4 c. unsweetened shredded coconut
– 1/2 c. chopped roasted hazelnuts (you can use any nuts you like)
– 1 TBS chia seeds
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– pinch of salt

Directions:

Mix in a bowl (I might blend in a food processor next time). Put in the fridge for 30 minutes and then shape into balls.

These energy balls are really tasty! I’m excited to use them to fuel my runs and adventures. Keep in mind that Barely has a lot of fiber so don’t eat too many at a time if you already have a diet high in fiber.
