Friday Five: 5 Healthy Eating Hacks for 2025!

Every new year, we’re inundated with diets, fads and detoxes. I like the idea of “hacks” to make eating healthy easy and more accessible. I’m not doing any cleanses or detoxes, but I am trying to continue some healthy habits and to start some new ones.

5 Healthy Eating Hacks for 2025

Create some healthy go-to recipes and cook at home more. We started doing more home cooking during the pandemic like many other people. I’m not a natural but I’m getting better and like the opportunity to make healthy substitutions and to cook recipes that contain whole food ingredients and spices.

GOLO Foods Chicken Blend.

Always have healthy food options on hand. When I get busy, I tend to run low on groceries and eat out more. One healthy change I made years ago is to have healthy frozen foods like Daily Harvest (Get 20% off of your first order of $100 or more with this link) on hand. They make smoothies, soups, harvest bowls and more. I recently tried flash frozen “power bowls” from GOLO Foods. They have plant based bowls and ones with egg, chicken or beef. No subscription is required and meals can cost as little as $6.99 each! I also stock up on healthy pantry staples and snacks.

Check menus at restaurants in advance to pick healthy options. I like to check out menus in advance so I don’t make impulse decisions when I’m out to eat. I especially like to do this for business dinners or when our with large groups, so I don’t feel pressure to order what everyone else is having.

Dijon Chicken with Wilted Spinach Fennel Salad

Try meal kits or healthy meal delivery. I recently had the opportunity to try Marley Spoon. They send fresh ingredients for seasonal, chef-developed recipes delivered to your door. They offer options for a variety of diets. There are some great prepared meal sites like Factor 75 and Freshly, too. I’ve even seen meal kits at the grocery store.

Stay hydrated! Drink more water. Sometimes when we feel hungry, it’s because we’re actually thirsty. Some hydration tips: always have a water bottle near by, try hot water with lemon, add fruit or mint to your water. I love seltzer and La Croix water, too.
