Grab a Cup for Our November ’24 Coffee Date

It’s the first weekend of the month so I’m having some virtual coffee. I‘m linking up with Coco @ Running with Perseverance and Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner for the Ultimate Coffee Date.

What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!

I didn’t buy this mug but I like it!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m SUPER excited to run my 24nd NYC Marathon this weekend! I’ve been smiling since we got here. If you’re running or know anyone who is, I’d tell you to check out my NYC Marathon tips here and my post for runners and spectators on Runstreet’s blog.

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that there are so many fun events, it’s hard not to have FOMO! I overdid it in Chicago, so I’m doing less this year. I went to the Fleet Feet/New Balance shakeout and breakfast, met Marie for coffee and then went to the Expo with Kelly and Sue today. I’m not doing any organized events tomorrow – just a few meet ups. The challenge is not to over do it! Maybe this year?!

Lucky gear – Chicago 2024

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I decided to wear the SAME outfit as the London, Berlin and Chicago Marathons this year, the 2023 Boston Marathon and 2021, 2022 and 2023 NYC and Chicago Marathons. It happens that I wore almost the same outfit for Chicago and NYC in 2019. Are you wondering if I don’t have any other running clothes? I do, but this top is SO easy to spot. I’d ask if you had “lucky” or noticeable clothes that you wear on repeat.

If we were having coffee… I had so much fun at the Expo with Sue and Kelly. We have gone to the expo together the last few years. It’s so much fun to catch up and share this pre-race tradition. I saw Erica Sara who makes awesome jewelry and has a special collection for the race, too. And, I got some perks from Salt Stick for being in their “sweater crew.” Lines were very long for official gear so we just ran through!

If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that even after 65 marathons, I still get nervous and excited. It seems crazy, but it’s true. I’m a bit nervous because I ran Berlin (9/29) and Chicago (10/13) and really trained with no hills. Here’s to hoping that muscle memory is a thing! Fingers crossed!

If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!

Have a good weekend!

PS. Please don’t forget my great giveaways.
