It’s the last Friday of the month, so it’s time to join Marcia for “Runfessions!” Runfessions are running truths or “where runners bare their souls and soles.” It may be an unpopular opinion, but I am SO excited that summer is almost over. Fall is my fave season – especially for running.
I runfess… some days I worry about my plan to run Berlin (9/29), Chicago (10/13) and NYC (11/3). That’s 3 marathons in 36 days. I remind myself that it’s all for fun. Plus, I did do Chicago, NYC, CIM last year – albeit with an extra two weeks overall. Someone on a recent long run asked me my strategy. I guess I need to make one. Any ideas? LOL.
I runfess… my races at the end of July and in mid-August went reasonably well. The Puma Mile was 2 seconds faster than last year with the same amount of speedwork (none) and the Madison Half was a surprisingly lovely cooler morning with a lot of shade. I ran nearly the same time as last year. I’m calling these both a win, because I nearly skipped out on both.
I runfess… Skokz is partnering with the Chicago Marathon, so I’m trying out new Shokz OpenSwim Pro headphones. I’m a big sweater, so these have been great for super-sweaty long runs. I also took them aqua-jogging in the lake and am planning to do some more water running with Fluid Running again. Heck, I may even do some swimming this winter.
I runfess… I’m loving a new line of cards for runners and athletes that my friend Julie created. Check out Sweaty Ponytales and get some for the runners (and support team) in your life. She’ll have a booth at the Chicago Marathon expo!
I runfess… I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with Labor Day weekend sales for running gear, shoes and some of my fave healthy eats. Have you seen any deals I shouldn’t miss?
Do you have any Runfessions? Please leave them in the comments.
I’m linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida for Fit Five Friday. Join us!
Have a great weekend!
