It’s the first weekend of the month, so I‘m linking up with Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date. I was on vacation and totally missed our July date and now it’s August so let’s talk about FALL!
What is the Ultimate Coffee Date? Imagine we are having coffee together… this post is what I would tell you. So grab a cup, “listen” and then tell me what is going on with you in the comments, please!
If we were having coffee… I’d ask if you’re loving the Olympics like us. I was so excited for Simone Biles and the US women’s gymnastics team on their “redemption” tour. The Husband put it best when he said “she’s just better at this than everyone else.” And Suni Lee’s comeback after her serious illness is also AMAZING. And don’t get me started on Steve Nedoroscik on the Pommel Horse. I could watch that performance (and subsequent celebrations) over and over! Bring on track and field!
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you about our amazing trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos. We spent a week in and around Quito and then four days in the Galapagos. We had a great itinerary with a visit to the Equator, the old city, an agave tasting, two awesome hikes, a visit to a hot spring and a stay at an amazing hacienda. We also ate at several of the best restaurants in Quito and at Fernanda’s family home (one of my fave meals!) Check out my Instagram grid and highlights for photos and reels of both places. I’d ask if you had any fun adventures in June and July.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I had the opportunity to attend some fun events in July including puppy yoga at Puppy Sphere, Faces of Fitness festival and “Colorpalooza” at the Color Factory. I also ran a mile race and stayed for the final heat where the first sub 4 mile in Chicago history was run. The winner ran 3:59.6. It was awesome! July will be hard to top. I’d ask if you did anything new or fun last month.
If we were having coffee… I’d tell you that I’m getting excited for fall and my fall marathons. Yup, plural. I have numbers for Berlin (1st run and 5th Abbott World Marathon Major), Chicago (7th run) and NYC Marathon (24th run). Hopefully, I can safely do all three. We’re planning to go to Amsterdam for a few days before Berlin and to Munich afterwards. I’m very excited for another great trip with friends and that The Husband is joining for this one.
If we were having coffee… I’d ask what you’re watching and reading. We’re watching Sprint on Netflix and still have the final season of Bridgerton in the queue. A few friends recommended Hacks. I enjoyed The T-Shirt Swim Club on Audible during our trip and a bunch of “fun” thrillers/beach books since then. What have you been reading and listening to?
If we were having coffee… I’d ask “what’s happening by you?” Please tell me in the comments!
I’m linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida, for Fit Five Friday. Join us!
PS. Please don’t forget my great giveaways.
