I met the team from South 40 Snacks at Sweets and Snacks this year. They sell sunflower seeds and nut and fruit bars. The nut bars are all natural and most contain 4 ingredients or less. I got a few varieties of bars and sunflower seeds to try. They sent me two boxes of Mixed Nut bars – one to share and one to give away.
South 40 Snacks was started by one of the founders of Sahale Snacks. He believes that the today consumers want simplicity and snacks that taste closer to their pure and earthly essence. What started as a sunflower seed company has blossomed into a genuine passion for taste, quality and community. He believes that “living authentically and taking time to enjoy life’s simple pleasures is the best way to live–and to snack.” [I agree!]
South 40’s crunchy (not chewy) nut bars have fewer ingredients and more premium nuts than any other bar out there. They never over-engineer the products or compromise on quality. These crunchy nut bars have just 4-7 ingredients and are 65% nuts and are sweetened with real sugar and honey. They’re a perfect balance of nutty and sweet.
The nut bars come in six varieties. They are Pistachio, Cashew, Almond, Peanut, Hazelnut and Mixed Nut. These crunchy bars are like nut brittles and the satisfying portions have between 220 and 240 calories per bar. The Mixed Nut bars have a mix of almonds, peanuts, hazelnuts and sesame seeds.
We love the Mixed Nut bars! I brought some to share in Ecuador and got rave reviews. In fact, The Husband requested these specifically on our hikes. They’re a great afternoon snack or pre-hike/bike bar.
